Jennifer Creger is an accomplished compliance risk management leader who partners with senior management and Boards of Directors to mitigate and manage risk through framework development, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance. Her early experience in working as an independent compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”) software consultant built a strong understanding of risk management practices across various types of banks and operations. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for improving performance through enhanced risk mitigation, developing process simplification and controls, developing high performing teams, and leveraging a pragmatic approach to solving business issues.
As a compliance executive, she has provided subject matter expertise while partnering with lines of business to ensure a consistent risk management culture aligned with the corporate regulatory risk appetite. Jennifer has been the compliance liaison for federal regulatory exams, including those conducted by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”). Building productive relationships with regulators while aligning compliance programs with regulatory expectations has been key to her successful leadership in exam management.
Jennifer developed several Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) strategic plans, shepherding senior management through market research, crafting goals acceptable to management and bank regulators, and authoring plan documentation required for approval. Jennifer’s work in fair and responsible banking includes more than 25 fair lending audits for banks throughout the southeast. She performed 80 pricing and underwriting tests, 20 redlining reviews, and multiple fair servicing tests for Crescent Bank’s subprime indirect auto lending operation.
Recently, as SVP of Compliance for Crescent Bank, Jennifer led the regulatory compliance function. She played an integral role in the development of the company’s Compliance Management System (“CMS”), BSA/Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”)/Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”) program, and CRA activities. She was responsible for developing the enterprise risk management (“ERM”) risk assessment program and aligning all risk assessments performed across the enterprise from a compliance perspective. Jennifer has leveraged her additional expertise in BSA, AML, and OFAC across financial services products and services, such as store value cards, indirect auto lending, software implementation, mortgage fraud, and risk assessments.
Her experience includes developing compliance issue management programs, key performance indicator (“KPI”) dashboards, corporate compliance training programs, credit reporting, privacy, and complaint management.
Jennifer has significant expertise in subprime indirect auto financing, deposit products, and commercial lending.
